iPhone 5 for Coming to Verizon...Can You Hear Me Now?

Most movers, shakers, industry players and entrepreneurs I know are wielding two cell phones nowadays. Why? Because it's hard to find one cell phone with EVERYTHING you'd want to have in a single phone. I am a die-hard Blackberry fan. Sure, it may not have all of the cool apps that the Iphone or an Android phone might have but the one thing that it does better than anyone else is EMAIL & MESSAGING...VERY FAST AND SECURE EMAIL. The one problem that I have with other phones is the delivery time and notification of my email. I think that any business owner, jet setter, corporate giant, or mogul in the making would agree that at the end of the day it all comes down to having your email and communication "on time", screw the apps. Also, having a Blackberry puts you in the exclusive BBM (Blackberry Messenger) family. It's probably the single most innovative app that the Blackberry has and it is TOTALLY FREE! I will admit that I still have a need for certain apps so that's where my Iphone comes into play and for those Iphone lovers out there, this blog is for you. Here's what the folks at the Hub Pages are saying...

The iPhone 5 built for 4G is COMING!!!

Lots of speculation is going around on the new iPhone 5... in HD!!
Verizon Wireless is currently testing a CDMA version of the iPhone 4 and 5 and Verizon confirms they are making network changes to bring the iphone to their network. The new iPhone 5 is going to be loaded with awesome new features like video chat on 3g and 4g (no longer restricted to WiFi only), face recognition and extreme downloading. (List of possible features below). Just when you think there is nothing else to come up with, more and more and more technology comes out. And it is on the rise, and not just at Apple, Inc!
This iPhone 5 will have dual core processors and higher and powerful graphic chips that can deliver higher video resolutions and better "still" images when taking pictures, AND it will make multi-tasking a breeze.
There are a few networks working on building a 4G network. T-mobile would be a likely carrier since they are GSM already. Sprint has a 4G network already... AT&T and Verizon Wireless are in the beginning stages. There are talks of Verizon Wireless getting iPhone sometime in 2010 but it looks like they will get it for sure in 2011 when the new iPhone 5 comes out.
Whether or not it will be 4G will be up to them!... can they build in time? They will definitely have the 3G version of iPhone, but with the new iPhone 5 (4g speeds) coming out, will they compete?! Regardless, there is much anticipation on how many people will leave AT&T for Verizon Wireless because of AT&T's lagging on app restrictions like Slingplayer and Google Voice and Skype (on 4g network, not Wi-Fi).
AT&T's restrictions have caused the percentage of people that are JailBreaking their iPhones to rise since Jail Breaking usually comes with Cydia which is the app store for jail broken phones. Most of the applications, ringtones, and even iphone themes!...are free with Cydia. Winterboard is part of the download, and it very easily add's the changes to your phone so you dont have to figure how to do it on your own...it is VERY automated.
The Palm Pre on Sprint and HTC EVO (Sprint now offering a 4G network) has made an attempt at being competitive with iPhone and Blackberry...and it seems they are making head way, although with the iPhone 4 released and the iPhone 5 on the way, they are sure to lose. Oh ya, the Blackberry Torch? = Nice try... but that browser is NOT full HTML.
iPhone 5 looks promising in terms of being sleek, packed with new hardware and finally less restrictions. Very exciting.
A few features of iPhone 5:
Thinner! With shiny glass back piece - 9.3 mm thick.
Face Recognition Security
Face Time (Video Chat) access on 3G AND 4G (available currently but only on 3G)
Custom SMS tones
Custom E-mail alerts with ability to assign different tones to each email address
A new, sleeker body design.
OLED screen.
Scratch proof and shatter proof screen
Wireless sync with iTunes
32G (basic) and 64G of memory. You're sure to never run out.
Extended battery life = 14 hours talk time on 3G and 7 hours on 4G. Standby 600 hours.
Hi Definition audio.
Messaging indicator light.
True GPS built in.
AFTER FUTHER INVESTIGATION, THE CORSA GROUP WAS ABLE TO DIG UP THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION...

And there’s some REALLY unexpected new features included with the iPhone 5! Apart of a rather predictable addition of a 3D video camera and an option to play 3D movies, here’s a (not full) list of features, while a photo of the iPhone 5 is below.

Your magical iPhone 5 can:
- Wash your cat.
- Make you invisible.
- Attract UFOs.
- Do your taxes and your hair.
- Make pie.
- Cure flu.
- Give flu to your ex.
- Control weather and stock markets.

Fart Etiquette for Women: The World's First Smart Guide

Women have been proven to release stronger smelling farts than men. So is it recommended for women to fart loud and be un-ladylike? Well not really, though the smell is overpowering, women are safer going for silent farts because loud ones can be blasphemous.God forbid, if the female fart is loud with terrible effects.. the embarrassment is enough to equate her to being naked in a room full of people A loud fart is risky and if you leave a loud one at your boss' cabin or at a dinner party, then you can bring the world to a grinding halt for two seconds. Well, women really are the stronger species.

Since smelly female ones are embarrassing and the loud farts scandalous, how can women fart (The same God who made love, made farts as well)and still be okay with it, societally speaking?

Here is some smart fart tactics for women so that you can fart smart and silently.
As for men, we know you are animals.

Here is how women can fart silently and discreetly:
1. Relax your butt muscles and lift your bum off your chair bit by bit. You can accomplish this by shifting your weight on one side of your butt.

2. Let your fart come out a little at a time. Make a conscious effort to control your fart. If you slowly let the air come out a little at a time, there will less air inside which means the croak sound will muffle out.

3. If you are not able to let the fart out slowly, go to the bathroom and explode the bombshell.

4. If you know your fart will follow your orders, talk loudly, pull the chair or go to a place where there is music and let the fart zoom out. You need to time your farts to perfection, lady.

5. Sit down when you get the urge to fart. Find a soft cushion and sit your ass on it. Even if your fart is loud, the cushion will be able to muffle the loudness.

6. Lean to one side unassumingly. You only need to lean so much that you have your weight on one butt cheek. Then, scoot yourself in such a manner that when you put your other butt cheek down on the couch, the two are somewhat spread apart from one another. When your bum cheeks are spread, there will be no noise, just rush of air. Tight butt cheeks makes for a louder, high pitched farts.

7. Go to a roomful of people and have a blast..which means shoot your fart. Even if you are loud or smelly, no one will know it is you, because commoners usually equate farts with that pot bellied beer drinking bloke.

8. Don’t hold back your farts, babe. If you do, your tight butt cheeks which are an envy of other women and a reason to ogle for guys, may just squeeze the fart and what will come out will be a tuneful squeak. The last thing you want is your butt playing the mouth organ music in public.

9. Do not sit on a hard chair or furniture; they exemplify the sound of your farts.

10. Cut out beans, ice-creams, chocolates, dairy products, vegetables, colas, fast foods, fruit from your diet. But then how would you live? So we can skip the last option.

Disadvantage for the woman who muffles the sound of her fart:

If you muffle the sound of your fart, woman; you may end up leaving the smelly, nasty, odor-rich fart that will disturb the oxygen flow in the environment.

Disclaimers to the fart silent and smart etiquette:
1. Your butt is the best judge of whether it should release a loud one or a silent smelly one. So some of the time, you may find out that your fart may be louder despite your attempt to shut it up.

2. Balls to the world, if your fart is loud, enjoy the sound and let the others take the tension.

Three Wheel Motion

The success of the Morgan Motor Company was founded on the manufacture of an icon, the Morgan Threewheeler. This brilliant but simple design by engineer Harry Morgan (HFS) became one of the most successful lightweight cars of the early days of motoring. From 1909 to 1953 around 30,000 Morgan Threewheelers were manufactured in Malvern and many more were made under license by Darmont Morgan in France. For many lucky owners it was their first experience of the freedom that car ownership could bring. Fast acceleration combined with a cruising range of over 50 miles to a gallon of petrol was an unbeatable combination in the day. On the race track the car became very successful, famously winning the French Grand Prix in 1913 and regularly lapping the banked Brooklands track at an average speed of over 100 mph. Stirling Moss who owned one is on record as saying “My Morgan was a great babe magnet”.

Whilst the world is a very different place in 2011 the time is right to relaunch this exceptional design.  Young people may not have experienced the same thrill as the early Threewheeler pilots and perhaps cult status is assured for a car with such an emphasis on simple honest functionality. The future of road transport in the 21st Century has two big issues, the conservation of precious  resources and the protection of our beautiful natural environment. Downsizing and a philosophy of simplicity are ways of dealing with these problems. The Morgan Threewheeler is a proven answer to these problems. In 2011 the Morgan Motor Company is to expand its range and go back to its roots.

The 2011 Morgan Threewheeler is a fusion of modern technology into a classic design. By fitting the latest “Screaming Eagle” 1800 cc engine from Harley Davidson and a Mazda 5 speed gearbox the car provides ‘get in and drive’ simplicity and reliability. A sturdy tubular frame and two rollover bars surround the passenger compartment. An aerodynamic super formed ‘bullet’ hull protects the occupants from the weather. However the feeling of freedom and contact with the road through the front wheels will bring to mind the joy of driving cars from the 20’s and 30’s but with none of their fragility or temperament. A leather padded aircraft style cockpit indulges the feeling of ‘flying through the air’. Refining the original design has produced a  unique 21st century vehicle. A sub 500kgs overall weight and a slippery hull provides the ultimate in performance and fuel economy. The Morgan Three wheeler has unrivalled power to weight for its on the road price.

Who Says You Can't Enjoy Acoustic Music?

Just when we were beginning to *HATE* music videos, Ben Folds hits us to the gut. Kudos!!!

Black Stallion Horsehide Leather Motorcycle Jacket

One of the best Leather Motorcycle Jacket styles of the 20th Century were the J21, J22, J23 and J24 styles from the design house of Joseph F. Buegeleisen of Detroit, MI. The company was better known as Buco. The J24 was hailed as the "coolest motorcycle jacket ever" by Rin Tanaka, motorcycle jacket historian and author of "Motorcycle Jackets - A Century of Design" published by Shiffer Books. Due to their popularity, vintage Buco Horsehide jackets fetch prices as high as $1000 or more on eBay and other auction houses and vintage boutiques. New "Buco clone" jackets are marketed at $1,000 (excluding belt) on other internet websites.

Jacket Features Include:

* heavyweight 4.0 oz (1.6 mm) genuine front quarter Horsehide leather
* heavy nylon reinforced stitching for strength and durability
* antique brass zippers for a vintage look, with leather pulls
* nickel plated snaps
* zippered "D" pocket on the left chest area with change pocket & flap
* zippered chest pocket
* zippered right handwarmer pocket
* two zippered pockets for rear passenger or cargo

The Wild Ones

RESPECT THE COOLNESS: Marlon Brando displayed a style that is just as relevant now as it was in the 1950's. A movie called "The Wild One" made it cool to be a socially rebellious outlaw biker. Clothing worn in this era was cuffed denim jeans, side-buckle and strap leather motorcycle boot, stallion horsehide leather jacket with embroidered name on the front, leather gloves, t-shirt, goggles (optional), the ever popular head "Hook Fast" cap, and of course, a trophy. Having approximately one dozen fellas with you will complete the look because you never know when two rival motorcycle gangs will need to terrorize a small town after their leaders are thrown in jail.

Khris is wearing the vintage leather motorcycle jacket, t-shirt, red bandana, denim blue jeans, and boots for a sprint around the city on the Yamaha cafe' racer motorcycle.

Master Of The Mix

"Party Rockers": Master of the Mix Viewing Party: Episode 1 from Hermon Farahi on Vimeo.

Just last week a Publicist friend of mine by the name of Candice Nicole Mackel invited me to an event called "Master of the Mix" which was sponsored by Smirnoff at a lounge on 14th and U St. NW called JIN. There was a DJ there by the name of DJ Stylus that was insane. I love music that vibes and he represents his name well, The Vibe Conductor. I appreciate Candice and Lil SoSo Productions for keeping me in the loop and I also appreciate Smirnoff for keeping me loopy.

Outfitted

Lately we’ve been completely infatuated with the new SS2010 Balmain Hommes collection and Christophe Decarnin’s ode to the moto-meets-military man. The simple yet intricate looks of Balmain Hommes this season have ushered in a revitalized sense of masculinity that ruled the shows this past fall. Part elegant and part grunge, there’s just something so inexplicably intoxicating about this juxtaposition of styles. And yes, this is a predominately black outfit meant to be worn in the Spring-Summer season. A bold statement indeed…

Indian Giver

This vintage picture comes to us from July 1915 and was snapped in Washington, D.C. A vintage Indian motorcycle, a shawl neck cardigan and long, open roads would all add up to a perfect experience, and one these gentlemen no doubt had.

Feathers & Roots

Lot 78 brings you a capsule collection of directional luxury leather outerwear for men and women. British designed and produced in Italian fine leather lambskin, the collection combines retro inspiration with contemporary structure. Inspired by NY’s lower east side, the jackets are lightweight and butter soft, designed to be thrown into your bag for ease of travel.

Mens: Produced in a colour palette of black, navy, brown, anthracite, and light grey the mens collection showcases 11 fashion focused styles. The Van is a soft 4 pocket field jacket. The Earl is a shirt style biker with popper detail. Stephen is a short fitted tailored jacket. There are 3 variations on the bomber, the retro collared George, the Luke, and the zipper Brad.

Womens: In a complimentary colour palette to the mens; red, black, navy, tan, brown, anthracite, and light grey, the womens collection offers eight strong individual shapes.

The highlight of the collection is the hand illustrated vintage biker jacket, Ed. Each jacket is individually customised with either a feather and roots tattoo motif, hand-painted by emerging London Artist Sadia Rafique.

The Art Deco Motorcycle That Time Forgot

The sheer beauty of the BMW R7 prototype takes my breath away. A single copy was crafted in 1934 by design engineer Alfred Böning. His vision was a departure from the "bicycle with motor" design still prevalent in the 1930s. The R7 incorporated sweeping enclosed bodywork, a pressed steel frame, valanced mudguards and then-innovative telescopic front forks.

The R7's beauty was more than skin deep, however. The transmission featured an 'H' pattern hand shifter and the 800c Boxer engine crafted by Leonhard Ischinger was decades ahead of its time. The revolutionary engine includes a forged, single piece crankshaft. The cylinder housing is a monoblock with a hemispherical combustion chamber, eliminating the need for a troublesome head gasket and the camshaft is positioned below the crank (allowing more convenient plug placement).

Alas, the R7 was deemed too extravagant and expensive to produce in the harsh economic and political climate of the mid-1930s. The roadworthy prototype was stripped of useful parts, crated and largely forgotten until 2005. When the box was finally opened, the R7 was found to be 70% complete but in disastrous condition. Many components were severely rusted and a long-forgotten battery had ruptured and corroded the machine even further.

Luckily, the original design drawings were located in the BMW Archives and BMW Classic undertook a comprehensive restoration. A team of specialists rebuilt the frame, bodywork, transmission and one-of-a-kind motor. By the end of 2008, the machine looked like it must have when Alfred Böning first rolled it out of his Munich workshop. It performed flawlessly on its first road test in over 70 years and, hopefully, will be displayed around the world in years to come.

Vintage Motorcyle Goggles

Whether your personal needs are to protect your eyes from harsh glare and UV rays, wind and sandstorms, or just to let your…erm… freak flag fly, Belmont Army has a wide variety of vintage military goggles and sunglasses to help you out. You can find all these on the third floor, along with Aviator shades and a wide variety of gas masks, canteens, sleeping pads, duffle bags, knives, ponchos, multi-tools, and camping goods to keep you safe and comfortable on the playa. Check out the 4th floor for Incognito sunglasses, including thick framed, UV-protected clear Buddy Holly glasses, highway patrol shades, Bono-style bugeye shades, weird pointy spangly sunglasses that look like a mix between a sexy librarian and a John Waters’ movie drag queen, along with all sorts of vintage mens and womens items you can add to your costume repertoir.

These shaded Swiss motorcycle goggles come in a durable tin carrying case that's kinda retro and old fashioned and kinda bad ass

These rubber German goggles have kind of a mad scientist/Dr. Strangelove vibe to them, but the adjustable strap should keep them flush against your face and and keep your eyes safe when the wind starts kicking up sand

These hinged, leather Chinese mountain troop goggles have tinted lenses on the front and side so you can check out all the cool machines and art and naked people in your periphery without looking risking whiplash or looking like a sleazoid

We're Back And We Hate It!

Yes, we are back on blogger again and it stinks! We are trying to get the kinks worked out with our Wordpress blog so in the meantime, here we are again...loathing
